Toddler!
(admit it you thought I was going to say Princess, didn't you!)
Since Addy is all about being a "Big Girl" we decided to run with it and make some changes that were coming anyways, so far so good! We re-decorated her room over the weekend, it is now more Toddler then Baby. We started with a Toddler Bed (Thanks to our friends for passing it on, it was white but we re-painted it in black) We still have the crib in her room , for now (so it is a little crowded) but we wanted to give her a little time to adjust to the toddler bed, before throwing her in it and taking away her crib. Day 1 is pictured above we didn't have her sleep in it we just let her get use to all the changes. I made the comforter I am pretty happy with how it turned out and found the throw pillows at Ross, for a steal of a deal! She loved the bed! All day every time she got a chance she would run in her room and get in the bed and read! So cute!!!
Day three, still loving it! She has now decided the bed is good for everything, she wants to spend all of her play time in her room! She puts on her music, closes the door and has a good ole time! She even had snack time in Bed! (which is normally not approved, but we went with to add to the excitement of the bed) After the first day we asked her if she wanted to sleep in the todddler bed and she said YES! So four nights now she has been in the Toddler bed (she is still napping in the crib) but she has done GREAT! at night in the toddler bed, we tuck her in, and she stays there until it is time to get up in the morning. The first night she did sit up and kind of sit there not sure what to do for quite some time, and the third night she fell out of bed and got to the middle of the room, she was sitting there very confused and a little disoriented, but went right back to bed after a little re-assurance from daddy. We are so proud of her progress, she is just doing so good with it, I am not sure I was ready for her to make the change, but she seems to be doing quite well!
I love where she has her slippers in this picture, just like daddy at the foot of the bed! And you can see the drapes just barely. We went with pink, green and brown. Below are some of my favorites from her room.
Whimsical for her reading area, the chair spins
My pennant
Her bow holder
The bookshelf Doug made to match the crib. It is missing a few of the new decor I just made, but I still love the shelf!
And we now brush our teeth in bed? HAHAHA, I just thought it was funny she doesn't really get to brush her teeth in bed, although she obviously wants to. We have also this week gone to an electric spin brush, she LOVES it and I don't have to fight her nearly as much, and I am sure those teeth are getting much cleaner!
I just can't believe how much she is growing and changing! It blows my mind everyday! What is next, I wonder, there really isn't much baby left okay we have three major areas to work on, probably more I am just not thinking of them...All in all I am pretty excited about how her room turned out, and so is she! On to the next projects!
