27 Days!!!

Only 27 days (give or take) to go! So being the planner I am, we are getting the finishing touches done now, so Baby can do whatever he is going to do and come whenever he is going to come and we will be ready! (As ready as you can be for a baby???) So today I picked up the bed I had ordered for him and we set it up, mainly to make sure there were not any problems with it but also to have it done. I had help, Addy of course was most interested in helping with this project, it wasn't until we were done that I knew why. This little girl is just so sweet, and it is quite obvious she does not get that someone else will be joining our family. So here is the crib set up, and not even minutes after we completed the task this is Addy with her Eeyore and pillow ready to get in?  She ran to her room got her goods and came running back, SO EXCITED! Oh sweetheart! Look at that disappointed little face, wondering why I put up something she can't get in...

She is even trying to get in through the side, bless her little heart, this particular crib is WAY to small for her, but she is just sure it is for her.  SO SWEET she is!
She had to settle for helping me push it into our room, where it will be residing for a bit, and then indulging in her favorite treat of the season, a mint! She would eat the box of them if I would let her. She knows I keep them in the freezer, and is always trying to get herself a snack....

She is not the only one with a favorite treat this season, I have done really good with this pregnancy, and while I have gained a little more then I did with Addy I haven't had any real cravings, or sweet tooth's to speak of, but I picked these up a few weeks ago at the store (as mint and chocolate are always favorites at our house) to try, and well I shouldn't have got them, I AM IN LOVE! They are just to tasty, if they weren't so bad for you I am sure I could eat the whole box and then some. Good thing they are a limited edition! Doug also has a favorite (not to leave him out) but he ate all of his before I could get a picture! It is a pumpkin pie with cream cheese in it, YUM!
So 27 or so days left to go, I won't say I am wishing the days away, I'm not, I still have a lot I want to get done, but I am ready to have this pregnancy over, it has definitely been a Long 8 months with a lot of ups and downs, (not to seem whiny or complaining, we are so thankful to be having another child we will take all that comes with it, gratefully, but that doesn't change the facts) Thankfully I know there are blessings that come with trials and that it is all part of a bigger picture,  all the same,  I am so excited to have our BOY here, to hold him and hug him and just love the stink right out of him!. Until then I guess I will just have an Oreo or something and try to explain to our little one that we need another bed for another person, hmmm! LOL

One Amazing guy!

Yesterday, Doug Celebrated his Birthday, it was a lovely day, for some reason I think because it was his special day that I can take a blog spot and say how truly amazing he is,(so don't read if you are prone to not liking mushy thoughts) which is, well nothing new, I rarely have anything but good to say about him, but lately I find myself just overwhelmingly thankful for such an amazing guy to call my husband and best friend.  Our home would just not be the same without him.To start with his love for me, and our little one is just well hard to even describe. He is so good with little kids, ours or others, his love is so genuine. So, for his birthday I told him he could spend the day any way he wanted, I should not have been shocked that his choice for the day was to take his daughter at his side and go spend the morning in the garage! They are so ADORABLE together. I love that when he gets free time he wants nothing more then to spend it with us. I have a bit of a cold so I stayed inside but I could hear the giggling and occasionally Addy would come in to tell me about her fun with Daddy.

Amongst just being so kind and thoughtful, Doug is in fact quite talented. As I am quite sensitive to raw meats, nor does standing for hours sound like fun to me, I really wasn't looking forward to making thanksgiving dinner, I seriously contemplated going out, but before I could even voice my thoughts my sweet husband had researched how to cook a turkey, and was in the kitchen putting everything together, just asking for directives from me as needed. The above is his first turkey, it turned out SO good, as did his gravy. YUM!  So, our thanksgiving was really quiet and peaceful, with good cooking all done by Doug (except the pie which I had made the day before, it was a new recipe and very tasty, may even be a new favorite at our house)

And so to be able to enjoy the  Holiday season and all that will come this holiday (including the birth of our our children, hopefully), we have our Christmas Decorating done! This is our Tree this year, Gold and Red. Addy is in LOVE, she is so taken with trees, no matter where we go, she stops and oggles the trees in amazement. She is so far doing great with the new decor. She particularly likes the way we rearranged the furniture making her a little play area behind the couch. Doug again was my Hero, helping and doing a lot of the decorating I would normally do. He is so aware of me and this little guy, our needs and wants, and limits.  I am so thankful for him, and the person he is, I know few people who are as selfless as him, and willing to just give and do whatever to make others happy.I just love him and am so grateful that he is mine! I can't imagine a better husband or father to our children. So Doug, thank you for being you, and truly amazing in every way! Here is to another great year!
