It is true, we do need a break, I was thinking something like one of the pictures above, I guess that is not what was really instore for us though, instead we got this ( See Below)
Yep that's our little Addy all wrapped up with a broken arm, she had just gotten home from a long day of surgery with the Orthopedic surgeon, they had to put cables in her arm to place it, then in a week or so they will remove them and put her in a cast, until then she is getting her daily wish, Mom at her beck and call, and to sleep with me everynight (doug is in the guest bed so he can get some sleep) She broke it clear, right above the elbow, not in the growth plate though so the Dr is expecting a quick recovery.
So what does a three yr old (that will be 4 soon she loves to say) do when a good portion of the norms are out? Well lucky for us we don't watch much tv, the kids are in heaven, I read them like 30 stories this morning, we normally only get in maybe 10 or 15 a day(thats over the whole day not just morning note) we are well past that now, I am digging up the books I use to swap them in and out for a change, and then they got to take turns picking shows and watch them together (we normally get 30 minutes or so if that never a whole show a day). We usually only have 1 maybe two days a week that we are not out of the house for this that or the other, but for the next week we have cleared our schedule, nothing but cabin fever for us! LOL
Addy had very few requests when she came home, she wanted me to put bandaids in the car so that next time she is hurt they are there when she needs them, she wanted a sucker, she wanted Grandma and Papa to come over (they did) and she wanted to see her friend Josie (who also came over and brought her these cute little breads that she helped her mom make for addy, which note is the FIRST time I have EVER gotten her to eat bannana bread) So sweet are her friends (that includes grandma and papa as she always tells us they are her best friends) Her sweet little faith, was just adorable, she said "I know papa will come and kiss me and I will feel better" Papa and Doug gave her a blessing. her other adorable quote "my josie come and see me? That would make SO Happy" Addy was just cute as a button and brave as could be through the whole day yesterday, it really was quite the ordeal, and not even a very good story of it breaking, We were playing at the park (we have done this nearly every tuesday this summer we were in search of the best park in billings so we set up a schedule invited a number of friends to join us and we tried them all out, Guess which park will not be on Addy's list of favorites, one she has already told me she will never go to again, not one toe is going there she told me, I doubt it, but we will avoid the bridge) There is a wiggly bridge, that has like a two foot fall, we had even seen a few other kids fall off it, but apparently their landing was not as rough as Addy's, she fell, she screamed, she turned pale and couldn't move her arm and she was off to the ER (both of our kids do that, lose their color fast when something is really wrong, good for me to know so I don't overlook something I shouldn't) Doug took her in and stayed with her during the ordeal, while I managed Jimmy and the homefront for her arrival there.(honestly broken bones is something I have braced myself for with Jimmy, I really did not expect it of addy, she is so cautious and careful, but everyone breaks I guess, lesson learned, if only it were that easy)
This is what she does when she is not reading stories, playing card games or watching movies, (she is getting really good at go fish) She Sleeps and hopefully is starting to heal. Man I feel for her, but accidents happen, thus we experience life and roll with the punches the good and the not so ideal. Hopefully it goes quickly for her and heals properly For now though she is on some very stong pain killers that seem to make all life good. I'm still dreaming of the other break though....
