Some of you may know, but for those of you who don't our little lady is not all that into baby dolls, in fact since day one there is only one thing (not including mom and dad or relations) but one item that she has attached to and stayed attached to for any length of time.(more then a month or so) But now, that has changed, she has made quite the attachment to this little fellow! Mickey ( and his counter part Minnie) She LOVES them, We don't know where it came from or how it happened, but she can't get enough. It is actually quite adorable. She treats them like most would treat a baby doll, one never knows where you will find Mickey if he isn't by Addy's side, the car seat, taking a nap on his burp rag, in the crib, or try the bouncer ( he even gets buckled for safety)
It just cracks me up. We have a couple of Disney movies that are the old Mickey cartoons, and if the TV is on, and she is in the room, well, you can guess what we are watching. We were home sick the other day I introduced her to Mickey online, she had a ball, she was so excited, If only I could have bottled that energy to spread around.... It seems like this may be common for kids (this age in particular) to love Mickey and Minnie, I have noticed it on a lot of our friends and families blogs, I wonder what it is that is so appealing about them, Addy loves the Old steamboat Willie Mickey, and every version in between to current. We really were not expecting it, but it is a welcomed attachment, and we love to see her demonstrating her skills of caring for others (although the other day she was putting Mickey to sleep and it look a lot like CPR, no leaving her alone with James, if you catch my drift)
Apparently Mickey wasn't enjoying James bouncer, so Addy decided to give it a try.
We were actually prepared for her little bum to land in James little seats, which is why she got two new chairs at Christmas to try and alleviate her sitting in James seats, it has helped, but alas you see where her little tush is, and you see the joy that is being had! What a funny girl, she does love little spaces.
Busted! So I am not the only one breaking the rules. To Doug's credit though, he had taken two nights in a row in their entirety so that I could get some rest, He is so sweet, and I love to see my guys together, be still my heart!
And what do two girls do while two guys nap? We made cookies, well one of us made cookies with a little help from the other who spent most of her time trying to figure out how to get herself inside this cabinet...
Oh the fun that can be had during someone Else's nap time!
As for everything else, we are doing good. We are looking forward to it being in the 40's tomorrow, it has been just very cold here so for the most part we have been in getting over our colds (that Addy and I caught, and keeping our fingers crossed that James doesn't catch it) the good news there being I think we may have made it through a cold without Addy getting a respiratory infection! (knock on wood) Oddly enough this is almost the exact same time I caught a cold after having Addy, apparently I can go about 5 weeks with little to no sleep before I am worn down and catch a cold, good to know. I put up the Feb calendar yesterday and it was full before it reached the fridge so I am sure it is going to just fly by, where does the time go? It will be busy, but I do love the Month of February, a short sweet distance to March!!!!
